Faster for longer the newly adapted foil has the same well-proven lightweight and aerodynamic frame as the previous version and is still amongst the lightest aero bikes on the market. In order to minimize it’s air drag and to make it even more outstanding, it has a completely new cockpit (fork, headset and handlebar) which allows for fully internal cable routing both for mechanical and electronic shifting.
Take a look at our full range of Scott Foil bikes here at My Ride.
Integration
– The newly adapted Foil has completely integrated cable routing for both mechanical and electronic shifting. This was achieved without any compromise on shifting or braking quality, nor on the stiffness of the headset. In addition, it was designed to be easy for mechanics to change cables and maintain the bike.
Aerodynamic Construction
– The core of the Scott Foil’s aerodynamic construction is its patented air foil design- F01 Technology. F01 has been used on bikes that have won stages on all grand tours, several classics including Paris-Roubaix and many more. Thanks to its completely new fork design and integrated cable routing, air drag is minimized even further.
Syncros Cockpit
– Clean and uncluttered, the Syncros combo cockpit allows for the routing of all the cables completely internally through the bar, headset and into the frame. Working with internationally renowned biomechanical partner Gebiomized resulted in the ultimate ergonomic shape for riders. The V-shape has also allowed for a major drop in weight and optimal stiffness, simultaneously improving cable routing making mechanics’ lives easier. Aerodynamics are also improved throughout with details like tucking the new computer integration into the gap.
Power Transfer
– The PF86 bottom bracket allows for a wide connection of the downtube and the tapered seat tube to the BB. SCOTT’s patented carbon manufacturing process and its unique carbon lay-up enable an extremely stiff bottom bracket.
Comfort Zone Construction
– The Foil features a low seat stay attachment which in combination with a modified and noticeably thin seat stay shape leads to a smooth riding experience even on rough roads. This concept was most evident with Mat Hayman’s Paris Roubaix win. The focused approach to improve comfort on the Foil resulted in a sizeable increase in vertical compliance.

Through SCOTT's own F01 technology we are able to ensure that every tube and junction is optimised for the best aerodynamic design. Validated through computer simluation and wind tunnel testing we can guarantee that this is the fastest Road Bike SCOTT has ever made.

The Foil features a combo and a handlebar and stem option that is worthy of an aero bike of this caliber. We took the hugely popular Sycnros Creston iC SL from the Addict RC into the wind-tunnel. The result is a slimmed down bar and combo that slices through the wind and ups the overall aero capability of the bike.
We also improved comfort and stiffness through adaptive compliance. The combo offers more compliance under a light load, for example when you're riding along on the hoods. However, when you sink into the drops to hammer the competition, the combo stiffens up to make sure you're able to extract every watt possible.

One of the most innovative features of the bike is the patented new Syncros Duncan SL Aero CFT. The innovative seatpost will not only make sure that on rougher surfaces you aren’t beaten up, but more importantly when on light gravel or cobbles, the seatpost will ensure you’re able to deliver maximum power through the pedals as you won’t be bucked out of the saddle. Consisting of two parts, the front, carbon fiber load bearing piece bends when the road gets bumpy ensuring you stay on the saddle.
Sold seperately, the Syncros Campbell 20 Aero iL Rear Light is a USB rechargable light that slots directly into the Duncan SL Aero CFT seatpost while maintaining the aerodynamic profile of the post. With its COB LED, it has 3 running modes, one steady, one for day time, and one for night time and offers 20Lm of output for a safe ride in all conditions.

All Foil RC models feature dropped seatstays which means additional comfort for the rider but crucially for an aero bike it also means less air resistance. They are aimed in at a 10 degree angle, forcing the passing air into the spinning spokes. Through aerodynamic testing we discovered that this detail provides significant aero gains as the bike moves forward. With the dropped seatstays we’re also able to hide the disc brake callipers not only further reducing aero drag but also adding to an overall clean aesthetic.

The Foil RC features an oversized head tube which not only allows for fully integrated cabling for both mechanical and electronic shifting but more importantly acts as a fairing for the bike. It splits the oncoming air and reduces aerodynamic drag as a rider powers forward.

With over 300 designs tested, SCOTT engineers were able to deliver a better carbon lay-up, a 30% reduction in the number of carbon pieces and joints used compared to the previous Foil and with incredible attention to the smaller details such as seat stays and seat clamp the team shaved weight without sacrificing stiffness.
30% fewer joints I 9% weight saved I 300 frame designs simulated
