What is chain waxing?
Bicycle chain waxing is a maintenance method where a bike chain is coated with a special wax to reduce friction and improve performance.
Here’s how it works:
- Cleaning: The chain is thoroughly cleaned to remove all dirt, old lubricant, and grime. This is crucial because any residue can interfere with the waxing process.
- Waxing: The chain is then submerged in our state-of-the-art chain waxing ultrasonic cleaning and waxing tank. We only use SILCA Secret Chain Blend.
- Drying: After being coated with wax, the chain is allowed to cool and dry. This hardens the wax and creates a smooth, slick surface that reduces friction.
- Application: Once the chain is dry, it’s reinstalled on the bike, and it’s ready to use.
